The beauty of its nature is only matched by the generosity and hospitality of its people, while its food is arguably one of the world's miracles. Travel to Georgia to indulge your senses, and uncover the incredible natural and cultural variety.

Travel to Georgia to try its authentic cuisine

One of the best reasons to travel to Georgia is to eat Georgian food. Loved in all former-Soviet countries, Georgian gustatory treasures are relatively unknown outside the former USSR and are hard to find. This is just why you must travel to Georgia. In fact, there is no one Georgian cuisine, but an assembly of regional ones.

Start your gastronomic trips in Tbilisi, and travel around the country to hunt for the culinary marvels of every region. Tuck into Adzharian khachapuri, cheese-filled bread with yolk, in Batumi, munch on Abkhazura, a meat dish, in Anaklia, where a popular music fest Kazantip takes place; taste Mingrelian khachapuri and Smoked Sulguni, a Georgian cheese made from cow's, goat's, buffalo's milk, in Samegrelo, and don't miss out on Georgian wine.

Georgia is known as the motherland of wine; it is said to have been invented here about 8 thousand years ago. All in all, food is one of the principal reasons to travel to Georgia, but it is not by any means the only one.

Travel to Batumi, one of the main tourist attractions on the Black Sea, during your trips to Georgia

One of the other reasons to travel to Georgia is Adzharia and its capital Batumi. Dubbed the new Dubai, the sky-scraping Batumi is a seaside resort, where the architecture of its old town marries modern infrastructure. It is also a place of unique cultural heritage. In contrast with the rest of the country, many in Adzharia adhere to Islam and are known for their unique Adzharia dances, Adjaruli, distinguished from other Georgian dances by its colorful costumes playfulness.

Indeed, the richness and diversity of the region's culture can be rivaled only by the beauty of Adzharia's nature. Apart from verdant hills and Mtsvane Tba and Tbikeli Lakes, it is home to arguably the region's best beaches. Travel to Kobuleti, Sarpi, or Batumi, the region's capital, where as well as pristine coastal areas you can enjoy kinetic nightlife and taste all the marvels of Georgian dining.

It is this tender and not cloying sweetness that makes Alazani wine the favorite of so many Georgians and foreigners alike. Made from Rkatsiteli grapes, it has found its way to people's tables since antiquity. If you travel to the Alazani valley, don't leave out Singhagi, a peaceful hillside town with arguably the world's best Alazani.
